RSF reportedly receives arms via Kufra

A report this week by Radio France Internationale (RFI) claimed that weapons used in the Rapid Support Forces’ (RSF) assault on the Sudanese city of El-Fasher were transferred through Libya. The report said that on 5 November, a convoy of over 800 armed vehicles, including 300 armoured ones, was filmed in Kufra, Libya, heading toward Sudan’s Darfur region. RFI said that the RSF maintains bases and camps in Kufra, where its fighters rest, receive supplies, and repair their vehicles.

RFI quoted a Sudanese ambassador as saying that an air bridge between Abu Dhabi and Libya continues at a steady pace to support the RSF. Satellite-based tracking systems recorded over 64 flights in October alone between Abu Dhabi and Kufra, and ten additional flights in early November after El-Fasher fell. This brings the total to 600 flights over six months, using military transport aircraft, mostly Ilyushin IL-76 planes.
