On 28 October, the National Institution for Human Rights in Libya (NIHRL) confirmed the death of citizen Mahmoud al-Zintani as a result of severe torture inflicted by members of the Benghazi Security Directorate – this was after videos circulated online. It said that the victim sustained serious injuries across multiple parts of his body, including fractures and deep wounds, as well as visible bruises on his face and legs caused by brutal physical abuse. It called for investigation.
