To mark the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes Against Journalists, the Libyan Crime Watch (LCW) organisation said it had documented at least eleven arrests of journalists between 2024 and 2025. The arrests were reportedly carried out by armed groups and security agencies affiliated with authorities in both eastern and western Libya. LCW also noted that the prosecution of journalists before military courts continues, reflecting the worsening situation for media freedom in the country.
