On 2 November, the 444 Brigade’s media office refuted rumours circulating about it cutting off fuel shipments to the southern region. It clarified that daily fuel shipments from Tripoli Fuel Depots to the southern region continue at a rate of 600,000 to 800,000 litres per day. However, the 444 Brigade said it has issued instructions to halt deliveries on Fridays only, which amount to 4 million litres—a quantity exceeding the quota allocated to the south for an entire week. This is due to this massive quantity of fuel being delivered for three consecutive weeks without it reaching citizens in the South, while quantities were reaching neighbouring countries. The 444 Brigade said that a security agency was smuggling these deliveries out of the country illegally and the efforts to halt the shipments are designed to target these fuel smuggling activities.
