On 27 February it was reported that private sources informed the international Arabic news television channel Al-Arabiya about a proposal for Egypt to provide the Libyan National Army (LNA) with training and restructuring. According to reports, the US has approved of the proposal, which also has some European support. Allegedly, the training would include terrorism countermeasures and handling guerrilla warfare. Sources reported that the Libya Contact Group will make a final decision on the proposal within a few weeks.
