In a rare interview on 4 November, the leader of the so-called Libyan National Army (LNA), Khalifa Haftar, said that Qatari and Turkish support to the Government of National Accord (GNA) will probably delay his troops’ advances, but will not prevent him from ‘liberating’ the capital. He characterised foreign military support for the LNA under the umbrella of international ‘counterterrorism’ cooperation.
He also said he wished the Berlin conference success if it ever took place, while reiterating that the dismantling of the militias must be addressed first.
