On the evening of 3 June, military personnel belonging to the 444 Brigade reportedly attacked the Souq al-Khamis Imsehel police station and forcibly removed detainees held by the Attorney General’s Office. They also assaulted officers and non-commissioned officers at the station. The detainees were being held in connection with a case of illegal construction in violation of the master plan on land designated as green spaces, specifically protected forest land, which had been seized by military personnel belonging to the 444 brigade and used to build shops.
