On 7 September, media sources claimed that a former senior member of the Benghazi Shura Council, Salem-al-Zayani, was killed in clashes in southern Tripoli, specifically on the Ain Zara Axis. Al-Zayani was formerly a resident of the al-Qawrasha distinct of Benghazi, having been a member of the Rafallah al-Sahati battalion in 2011.
