On 30 October, the U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) released a statement denying reports that AFRICOM Commander General Waldhauser had made a recent visit to Sirte. Libyan media outlets had reported that Waldhauser had traveled to the city to discuss the formation of an operations room to pursue ISIS remnants.
