On 24 November, the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, indicated in an interview to Italian media that Russia does not have plans to establish a military base in Libya. In an interview with Sputnik the following day, he said external interference in the Libyan conflict was unacceptable and that Russia was working to assist national reconciliation.
