On 11 April, senior leader of the Benghazi Defense Brigade, Ziyad Belam, was seen in video footage participating clashes in the Khalla al-Farjan suburb of Tripoli. Belam was reported to have been in Turkey last year. He was previously a member of the Benghazi Revolutionaries Shura Council and commander of the Omar al-Mukhtar Brigade.
